It seems so overwhelming. The commission Jesus gave us to make disciples of the whole world simply seems overwhelming. After all, there are more than 7.5 billion people on the earth. How can we be expected to reach so many? Where would we even begin? It seems impossible. The world seems so large, and many of the people in it seem so different and far away. This task is too big. There are people who are smarter, more talented, and much more spiritual. Maybe they can do reach the world. It is all so overwhelming.
What if we took a different approach? What if we looked at the people of the world not as a giant pool of “them,” and instead focused on one? One person. One life. One heart. One name. One eternity. Right where you are – your neighborhood, your job, your class, your family – there is one. One person who needs to know Jesus. One person who needs to experience forgiveness and new life. One person who needs hope. We are called to reach the world, but reaching the world begins by reaching one. So who’s your one?
We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings beginning on March 17 as we rediscover the power and importance of one. Who’s your one?
