We believe the science indicates that COVID-19 is a very real danger to people of all ages; however, we also believe the same science has given us clear and workable methods of reducing risk. First Baptist strongly requests that all those in attendance over the age of six wear some manner of face covering. Masks are available when you enter the building in the event you do not have a mask to use. We also ask that all those in attendance observe appropriate social distancing from those outside of their family group. W are devoting additional time and resources to ensure that our campus is appropriately sanitized between services and events. Finally, we limiting physical interaction by changing the way we greet one another, the way we receive financial gifts and offerings, and the way we simply live life with one another. Simply put, we continue to follow the science and do everything possible to create a safe and welcoming environment in which you can encounter Jesus in worship.
We fully understand that even with these, and other, precautions some individuals and families will not be comfortable returning to a physical worship setting. While interacting online is not quite the same as personal interaction, we continue to develop our digital community through live-stream and recorded video options, podcasts, and the utilization of social media.
While each service is a little bit different, there are some common themes in all our worship services. Each of our services is filled with energy, enthusiasm, and usually quite a bit of laughter. Because we are a community with many generations, we seek to blend today’s contemporary music with the Christian classics to inspire you and help you encounter Jesus Christ in worship. Perhaps the most important theme in all our worship services is the emphasis on the Bible. Whether you bring your own Bible, use one from the seat in front of you, or log into a Bible app on your smart phone or tablet, keep a Bible handy because Pastor Jason is always focused on leading us deeper into the Bible.
First Baptist is a bit unique because our Sunday Morning Worship begins at 9:00 am, and our Sunday Morning Small Groups or Sunday School begins about 10:20 am. We suggest that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow you time to park and relax before any event begins, but we also know that sometimes life happens. When life happens and you are running a little behind, don’t worry about it. Always feel free to join us, even if it’s a little later than you had hoped.
If you don’t want to look silly, then the clown nose and clown wig is probably not the best idea. Seriously though, we are a laid back and relaxed community of faith. On any given Sunday, you will find people wearing jeans and a t-shirt and others wearing a suit and tie. So find whatever style of clothes that makes you feel comfortable. Honestly, God is less concerned with our choice of clothing than He is about our heart.
Your family is incredibly important, and no one will ever impact your child's life the way that you can! This is why we emphasize families worshipping together. While you are perfectly welcome to keep your child with you, a nursery is provided for children from birth to pre-k. All other children are encouraged to worship alongside their family. Here are just a few ideas as you worship with your children.
