What to Expect

While each service is a little bit different, there are some common themes in all our worship services. Each of our services is filled with energy, enthusiasm, and usually quite a bit of laughter. Because we are a community with many generations, we seek to blend today’s contemporary music with the Christian classics to inspire you and help you encounter Jesus Christ in worship. Perhaps the most important theme in all our worship services is the emphasis on the Bible. Whether you bring your own Bible, use one from the seat in front of you, or log into a Bible app on your smart phone or tablet, keep a Bible handy because Pastor Jason is always focused on leading us deeper into the Bible.

First Baptist is a bit unique because our Sunday Morning Worship begins at 9:00 am, and our Sunday Morning Small Groups or Sunday School begins about 10:20 am. We suggest that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow you time to park and relax before any event begins, but we also know that sometimes life happens. When life happens and you are running a little behind, don’t worry about it. Always feel free to join us, even if it’s a little later than you had hoped.

If you don’t want to look silly, then the clown nose and clown wig is probably not the best idea. Seriously though, we are a laid back and relaxed community of faith. On any given Sunday, you will find people wearing jeans and a t-shirt and others wearing a suit and tie. So find whatever style of clothes that makes you feel comfortable. Honestly, God is less concerned with our choice of clothing than He is about our heart.

Your family is incredibly important, and no one will ever impact your child's life the way that you can! This is why we emphasize families worshipping together. While you are perfectly welcome to keep your child with you, a nursery is provided for children from birth to pre-k. All other children are encouraged to worship alongside their family. Here are just a few ideas as you worship with your children.

• Relax! God made your children, even their wiggles and giggles. Don't worry about suppressing all of their wiggles.
• Consider sitting toward the front where it will be easier for your children to see and engage in worship.
• Feel free to explain the parts of the service to your children during worship if they have questions.
• Sing along with the music and read from your Bible. Children learn by imitating you.
• If you have to leave the Worship Center with your child, feel free to do so, but also feel free to return once you can.
