God created each of us to live in relationship with Him and with one another. While our relationship with God is always supposed to be our priority, our relationship with Him ought to be lived out publicly so that the world might be drawn to Jesus. All our relationships are important, but no relationships are as influential as our relationship with our family. As adults, no one has influenced us as much as our family. As adults, how we live our our faith before our children and grandchildren will forever influence them toward Jesus or away from Him.
During the Christmas season we have an incredible opportunity to both grow in our personal relationship with God and to influence those around us toward Jesus Christ. Ironically, we often miss this opportunity even though we are celebrating the birth of Jesus. Crazy schedules, endless to-do lists, and holiday shopping easily distract us from the true reason we celebrate this season. The Faith and Family Project is a ministry of First Baptist Church that seeks to provide you with a daily reminder for you and your family to refocus your life this Christmas season. Beginning on Sunday, November 27, a daily devotion will be published on this site to help you grow closer to Jesus Christ during this Christmas season. You can receive these devotions by email by simply subscribing via email on the right hand side of this page. You can also connect with these devotions through Facebook by following the First Baptist Facebook page or by clicking on the devotions link under the First Baptist News Categories heading on the right side of this page. However you choose to access these devotions, we pray that you join us this Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior! Let us be the first to wish you a very Merry Christmas, and there will be more to come on November 27!
