Minister to Students // Benjamin Carpenter

Benjamin Carpenter & Family

What you need to know about me… I love God, I love my family, I love working with students, and I love the Chicago Cubs and the Arkansas Razorbacks!  I also love the outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, etc.).  Vocal music got me through college and I continue to sing and play the guitar as often as I can. I’ve been married to my wife, Erin since July 2002 and we have three beautiful kids (Ben Tyler – 13 ; Emma Kate – 10 ; Avonlea – infant). God placed us in Mountain View in October 2015 after having served in both Arkansas and Tennessee in Student Ministry for almost 10 years.  We immediately fell in love with the wonderful people in the area and in this church.

I lead, mentor, and train students to be Disciples of Jesus Christ and to think Biblically. I oversee the 7th-12th grade youth department on Sunday mornings and lead the Bible study during the Sunday school hour. On Wednesday nights, I teach our large youth group (Fusion Students) in the historic “Rock Building” on the FBC campus. I provide teaching and also music during that service.  In addition to these regular activities, I am responsible for keeping the students plugged into church as much as possible by planning youth events, mission trips, fun trips, and summer camps. I also try to stay connected to the students via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. and I maintain a youth group Facebook page and a youth blog.
